Position Overview: Seacrest is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cross-Country Coach to join our athletic department. The ideal candidate will support the cross-country program, including training, mentoring, and guiding student-athletes to achieve their full potential both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement training programs and practice schedules that align with the team's goals and objectives.
• Provide instruction and feedback on running techniques, endurance training, and race strategies.
• Support student-athletes in setting and achieving personal and team performance goals.
• Attend all practices, meets, and team events, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
• Organize and supervise team travel, including transportation, accommodations, and meals.
• Help manage and maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field.
• Experience running cross country competitively.
• Knowledge of nutrition and injury prevention for long-distance runners.
• Previous coaching experience in cross country or a related sport, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
• Strong knowledge of cross-country training techniques, race strategies, and conditioning.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Ability to pass a background check and meet all school and state requirements for coaching.

Compensation:

Coaching opportunities are contract-based positions and are paid a predetermined stipend amount.

• Fingerprinting and background checks are a required part of the Seacrest employment eligibility process.
