Lake Highland Preparatory School is seeking an exceptional and experienced candidate to serve as an Associate Director of the Middle School, Charles Clayton Campus. This dynamic and innovative individual will work closely with the Director of the Middle School providing support to students, faculty and staff, parents, and other members of the Middle School Administrative Team. The Associate Director is responsible for leading the Middle School in a new and exciting phase of student-life development. This individual will contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation at Lake Highland. This is a critical leadership position that will support the Director of the Middle School in providing a school setting that helps students embrace the Mission and values of the school. Additionally, the Associate Director will cultivate and develop an understanding of the school’s Mission Statement and Honor Code and its role in our daily lives. This is a 12 month, full-time, benefited position which begins on July 1, 2020 or sooner.

Increase student leadership opportunities and oversee the Middle School mentoring program.
Promote student engagement, organize student life opportunities, and provide for the needs of our students by developing a wide range of clubs and student activities.
Create and implement the curriculum for the middle school advisory program.
Oversee all special events including, but not limited to Open House, Grandparents Day, Visitation Day, and student events.
Works alongside the Social-Emotional Support Counselor to ensure the social-emotional safety of our students.
Provide ongoing evaluation and classroom observations to Middle School teachers and subs, including annual reviews.
Maintain the Middle School calendar and communicate details to the staff.
Oversee the transportation needs between campuses and ensure the safety of the students by supporting and implementing the best practices for emergency procedures.
Identify, plan, and arrange opportunities within the local community for curricular enrichment, including guest speakers, field trips, and supplemental resources.
Assess and approve all Middle School field trips, including the assessing and assigning all necessary staff for field trips, class trips and off-campus activities.
Oversee student arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess, including assigning staff to ensure for adequate supervision and coverage.
Assist the Middle School Director in creating an enthusiastic culture for learning and collaboration among students and faculty.
Support the Middle School Director in the collaborative development and implementation of the school’s mission and vision.
Support the Middle School faculty with helping to facilitate a positive, effective, and orderly classroom environment.
Consistently be visible in classrooms to support teacher growth.
Coach and support teachers with best teaching practices.
Assume other special activities and responsibilities as required or when directed by the Director of Middle School.

Candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the international equivalent, and has experience in a supervisory role with an advanced degree in educational leadership or related field.
Minimum of 8 years experience in the education field with teaching experience. preferably in the middle school setting.
Experience in implementing professional development programs.
A demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
