Upper School English Teacher
Shorecrest Preparatory School
Shorecrest is seeking an accomplished and student-centered instructor in English to join a collaborative and supportive faculty. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching all levels of English in the Upper School, including AP courses. During the first year, the candidate will teach AP Language and Composition and 9th grade English, a genre survey course. The candidate will have a strong background in the teaching of writing and literary analysis, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to student learning and development. Interest in creating and teaching semester-length advanced English electives is an added asset. Interested candidates must have teaching experience or demonstrated expertise in their assigned subject area, as well as a desire to be part of an independent school community that thrives on the relationships built outside of the classroom. Shorecrest Upper School teachers are responsible for teaching five sections of classes and advising approximately fifteen students.
